Compass Course

Eagle Scout Project by Brady Stinson 2016

Instructions
Three different courses are available; a visual youth course, a Vashon history-based course, and a Vashon veteran-based course. Each provides, in bold, compass bearings and approximate distances (measured in steps). This will put you near the destination, but exact location must be found by reading the headstones

Compass Use:
Either the compasses available or compass apps will work for these courses If using the compasses provided, align the degree hearing (on the movable ring) with the point on the outer rectangle, then position the red arrow so that it points to the North (N) The desired route will he directed by the arrow on the outer rectangle
Distances:
Each walking distance is given in steps. The number will vary person-to-person, but, from the creator's stride, this paved shelter is about 8 steps lengthwise

Notice:
The orienteering courses should be used while keeping cemetery courtesy in mind. Follow the route as closely as possible for accuracy, but do not walk on any headstones or plants that might lie in the path

Please return compasses and courses to their origin when finished.
